Frequently Asked Questions
What is Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®)?
Rapid Transformational Therapy® founded by Marissa Peer, is therapy under hypnosis, it combines the best features of Hypnotherapy, NLP, Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapies to create a life-changing therapy which is designed to give you a powerful breakthrough and create substantial change in your life. Rapid Transformational Therapy® is a unique therapy that is fast, effective and enjoyable!
Does RTT® Therapy use hypnotherapy?
Yes, the consultation uses a deepening exercise at the beginning and the client is able to enter a calm trance-like state throughout. Something happens in the mind during hypnosis that does not happen outside, making it open to suggestion. This enables the person to effectively communicate directly with their subconscious mind and bring about the change they want.
What is Hypnosis and how will I feel?
“A state of consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness, characterized by an enhanced response to suggestions.” ~ The American Psychological Association (APA)
Something wonderful happens in the mind during hypnosis that makes it very open to change. In plain and simple terms, this means you allow your mind to enter a state that enables you to open up to new possibilities and suggestions and erase unhelpful behavior patterns, leaving you feeling empowered and free.
How does it work?
Hypnosis is not magic – it’s science. It works by creating a burst of brain waves that are the same as when you’re in REM. That’s what allows you to access the subconscious mind. It’s very easy and anyone can do it, you’ll see for yourself when you do it too.
Will I be asleep?
No. You are awake and alert, aware of everything that is happening throughout the session. You don’t actually go to sleep. You are fully aware and in control. It’s a deep meditative state.
Will I be under your power?
No. You are in charge. You cannot be made to do anything and you cannot be taken into hypnosis against your will.
How many sessions will I need?
RTT® is fast, effective and permanent and most people only require one to three sessions to address an issue and I will advise you at your initial appointment.
What can’t be cured using RTT®?
Epilepsy, Bipolar and some mental conditions cannot be cured using RTT®. Cancer, Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and Diabetes cannot be cured; however with RTT® it is possible to help to alleviate symptoms and manage these conditions.
How long does a therapy/ coaching session last?
After your initial appointment with me your RTT® / Coaching session will take approximately 90 – 120 minutes.
When will I start to see changes?
There are 3 types of change from Rapid Transformational Therapy – every person is different:
- Immediate: You feel a massive shift right away, immediate changes in your physiology, thoughts and behaviors right in the session.
- Incremental: You see consistent shifts every day, or over time.
- Retroactive: You don’t see the shifts right away and then one day you suddenly look back and see all of the things that are different in your life.
I will remain in touch with you after your appointment for a short time and be on hand should you need me. It is important to me that clients feel supported, even after our session together. If you choose the longer packages, this is even more supported with additional RTT® or Coaching sessions.
What if I need or want another session?
RTT is designed to give you a powerful breakthrough and create big changes in your life. Some clients may need more than one RTT® session on a particular issue, depending on how deep the issue is, it can take up to 3 sessions. Some want to keep doing sessions to work on other areas of their life in order to integrate the new beliefs and build new habits and behaviors.
Why does RTT® hypnotherapy cost more than regular hypnotherapy?
There is a lot more involved than just turning up for a 1-hour session and leaving. I prepare your session and the session itself is around 2 hours long. After the session, I create a personalized hypnosis recording to music which you commit to listening to for 21 days (minimum). We have a follow up call on day 7, 14, and day 21.
I feel worried about regression and being in hypnosis
In hypnotherapy Regression is simply a term used for the process by which I guide you back through time to particular events that need to be examined. The medical definition of regression is ‘lessening of severity of symptoms or disease’ and this is essentially what the aim is in Rapid Transformational Therapy® to resolve your issue. The regression is one aspect of RTT® that clients are often most fascinated to talk about after their session, because you are easily able to recall material from deep inside that is normally not available to the conscious mind. During your entire session you are able to communicate with me throughout and are fully supported.
What if I think I already know the reasons behind my issue?
What makes RTT® amazing is that even if you think you know the reason, you see it in a COMPLETELY new way. That’s what allows you to change the meaning and ultimately, change your beliefs. And for many clients they go back to scenes that are totally different from what was expected. Just relax and trust that your subconscious mind will show you exactly what you need to see.
What if I go back to scenes that are painful or scary?
If you go back to scenes from your life that are related to things like sexual or physical abuse, or other trauma, it’s important to remember that you are not reliving that scene, you are simply reviewing it and that you are safe. I will support you and create a safe space for you to express your emotions and heal – you’ll be OK!
Where is the session held?
Sessions can be delivered online. We can use Skype or Zoom to deliver the sessions. Online is just as effective as ‘in person’ sessions. The majority of sessions are held online, which enables you to enjoy the freedom of being at home without the need for travel. In-person sessions are held in Windhoek.
How do I book a session?
You can book directly through the website at a time convenient for you. I will contact you prior to answering any additional questions you may have about your session so that you can feel comfortable and at ease on the day.
Can we have a conversation before I book a session?
Yes, of course. You are free to book your session online here or call and make an appointment!
